viewpoint technical writer intern experience

I interned as a Technical Writer on the Trimble Viewpoint Information Experience (IX) team to expand my knowledge of content authoring tools and technical documentation techniques. I specifically gained experience in project planning and tracking, interviewing SMEs and stakeholders, authoring content using Oxygen and Heretto (EasyDITA), and reviewing content with senior writers and other stakeholders.

By the end of my internship, I documented a new feature for the software product Viewpoint Team, updated existing content in the topic Project Roles for Viewpoint Team, and wrote the web enhancement section of the release notes to briefly overview these changes to the Help documentation.

I also revitalized the team style guide, working with members to gauge their needs, facilitating team discussions of current styles and standards, and publishing an in-house version of the revamped style guide using Oxygen.
